Radovan Stojanović received his BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Montenegro and a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology from the University of Patras, Greece in 1990, 1994 and 2001 respectively. From 1990 until 1997 he worked as a teaching assistant and lecturer at the University of Montenegro, and then moved to the University of Patras where he stayed until 2003. At the University of Montenegro he was appointed to the positions of assistant, associate and full professor in Electronics and ICT, in 2002, 2008 and 2013 respectively.
He spent periods of time undertaking research and engineering work at numerous EU and oversees universities and institutes. He is an author/co-author of more than 230 publications in international journals and conference proceedings and coordinator or sub-coordinator in more than 30 projects including (5 ERASMUS+/TEMPUS, 2 NATO, 1 FP6, 1 FP7, 1 WUS and 1 World Bank, 4 Bilateral, 5 National etc).
He is an expert of EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), EURAMET (European Association of Metrology Institutes) and several governmental institutions in the Western Balkan Region. He is a member of the Board of Montenegrin Academy of Science for Natural and Technical Sciences, Think Tank Team of Montenegro, Board of Doctoral Studies at the University of Montenegro, a representative of Montenegro in H2020-ICT Committee as well as a president and establisher of the Montenegrin Association of New Technologies (MANT), founder and Chairman of the Mediterranean conference on embedded systems (MECO), co-chairmen of EUROMICRO/IEEE Workshop on Embedded and Cyber-Physical Systems (ECYPS) and stakeholder of Mediterranean Excellence in Computing and Ontology (MECOnet). He was the first director of the Forum of Montenegrin University Teachers and Researchers (FUPI). He is also a member of board of directors of EUROMICRO (European Association for Micro Electronics). He has participated in scientific committees of more than 40 international and national academic conferences and serves as an editor or reviewer for several SCI/SCIE journals. Also, he worked as a designer in advanced electronics for several high-tech companies.
He is the founder of Montenegro’s Centre for Applied Electronics, 2003; Centre for Biomedical Engineering (BioEMIS), 2014; NATO’s Centre for Simulation of Disasters (GEPSUS), 2014; Laboratory for Medical Electronics (MEDEL), 2016 as well as the creator of several new courses in the field of advanced electronics and ICT.
