Somdip Dey

Somdip Dey is a serial entrepreneur and scientist, making Artificial Intelligence (AI) accessible to developing countries. Somdip is currently the co-founder and CEO of Nosh Technologies, an AI powered food tech company, developing solutions to reduce food waste in the household using AI methodologies. He also co-founded Codeepy in 2014 and designed the world’s first “crowd-fooding” platform to effectively share leftover food with people in need. The application won an international award at Koding’s Global Hackathon in 2014. Somdip also founded ReMe Basket Ltd., a company focused on reducing food waste from every individual’s pocket, in 2018.

Somdip received his B.Sc. in Computer Science (Honors) with minor in Mathematics and Physics from St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, India on 2012. During his undergraduate degree, his research focused on Computer and Information Security along with Computer Architecture. In 2014 he received his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science with specialization in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester, U.K.

Somdip has more than 12 years experience in the industry as a professional Software Developer, including contracts with Microsoft and Samsung, and with 6+ years experience in leading development teams. Somdip is also Editor of several journals including Frontiers in Blockchain: Fourth Industrial Revolution journal and is also a technical program committee member and reviewer of several top conferences such as AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, DAC, DATE, ASAP, etc. His research interests are in: Energy efficiency, reliability, computer vision, machine learning, MPSoC, ​mobile computing, information, ​and computer security.
