Christoforos Kachris is an Assistant Professor at University of West Attica (Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering). He is also co-founder and CEO at InAccel.
He has more than 20 years of experience in the domain of hardware accelerators for applications like networking, image processing and machine learning.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands in 2007, and the diploma and the M.Sc. in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete, Greece in 2001 and 2003 respectively. From 2010 till Jan. 2016 he was a senior researcher and Assistant Professor at Athens Information Technology (AIT). From February 2009 till August 2010 he was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Crete, Greece and associate researcher at the Institute of Computer Science in the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH) working on the HiPEAC NoE and the SARC IP European research projects. In 2006 he was a research intern at Xilinx Research Labs, San Jose, CA, working at the Networks Group.
He was the Project Technical Manager of the H2020 EC-funded VINEYARD project, working on how to efficiently utilize accelerators in the data centers in order to improve significantly the energy efficiency.
