Ying Zhang

Dr. Ying Zhang is the CTO and a co-founder of MonetDB Solutions, the professional consultancy company for MonetDB. In 2010, Zhang received her PhD on distributed query processing on heterogeneous XQuery engines, in the Database Architectures group of the Dutch national research Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI). From 2010 to 2016, Zhang has worked in the same group as a postdoctoral researcher, with focus on array database management system for data-intensive sciences, e.g. remote sensing and life sciences. Zhang has participated various EU projects, e.g. FashionBrain, ACTiCLOUD, ExaNeSt, CoherentPaaS, the Human Brain Project and TELEIOS, in which she leads the research work of CWI or MonetDB Solutions. Zhang is a referee of international conferences and journals, e.g, ACM SIGMOD, ACM Transactions on Database Systems, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, and Extended Semantic Web Conference. She is a (co-) supervisor of PhD and master students.
