Giovanni Ansaloni is a researcher and lecturer at the Embedded Systems Laboratory of EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland). He previously worked as a Post-Doc at the University of Lugano (USI, Switzerland) between 2015 and 2020, and at EPFL between 2011 and 2015. He received a MS degree in electronic engineering from University of Ferrara (Italy) in 2003, an executive master in embedded systems design from the ALaRI institute (Switzerland) in 2005 and a PhD degree from USI in 2011.
His research efforts focus on domain-specific architectures and algorithms for edge computing, where he aims at harnessing the opportunities offered by emerging applications and IC technologies towards the design of energy-minimal systems. On these topics, Dr. Ansaloni is the co-author of more than 70 papers in international conferences (DATE, DAC, ASP-DAC, ESWEEK among others) and journals (including IEEE TVLSI, TCAD and TC). He collaborated in several research projects including the FVLLMONTI, WiPLASH, and Phidias European projects. He is a member of the Technical Program Committee of the DATE (since 2014), ISLPED (2019) VLSID (2020) and ICCAD (2021) conferences. He serves as an Associate Editor IEEE Transaction on CAD.
