Dr. Charles Robinson received both his MEng and PhD degrees at the University of York. Following research in the UK, as part of cortAIx labs supporting research across Thales, he leads work related to system and technology integration, collaborating with and coordinating teams both internally and at European level. He has worked on many aspects of systems engineering spanning across control systems and radar design, decentralised systems, data fusion, robotics, maritime surveillance, human factors and algorithm development. Among his focuses is considering the high-level challenges for the aggregation of technologies for safety-critical and collaborative systems. For this purpose, Dr. Robinson provides a support role transverse across technology domains, offering leadership on cyber-physical systems and for the coupling of dependability properties (dependability co-engineering).
