Open Source for Cloud/Edge to support European Digital Autonomy: A snapshot from the CAPE, CHORYS, HIGHER projects

Open-source software and system architectures for European cloud and edge computing, supporting the deployment of emerging European processor technologies, including RISC-V, and contributing to a more open, interoperable and sovereign digital infrastructure.

To showcase how the CAPE, CHORYS and HIGHER projects, funded under topic HORIZON-CL4-2024-DIGITAL-EMERGING-01-21: Open Source for Cloud/Edge to support European Digital Autonomy, contribute to the development of an open European cloud and edge computing ecosystem. The webinar will explore their technical approaches, the role of open-source software in enabling emerging processor architectures, and the challenges and opportunities involved in translating research into deployable solutions. It will also discuss interoperability, standardisation, exploitation and the contribution of these developments to European digital autonomy.

Summary

This webinar explores how CAPE, CHORYS, and HIGHER projects support an open European cloud and edge ecosystem, focusing on emerging technologies and the role of open-source software in digital autonomy.
