TechNexus Interim Communities Exchange 2026

The TechNexus programme, catalysed by HiPEAC, is holding its Interim Communities Exchange workshop on 16 September from 09:30 to 12:30 CEST. The workshop will focus on three main areas in complex and critical systems: bridging between technology domains, managing complex technology integration, and implementing dependable systems.

Now in its sixth year, the TechNexus programme comprises a cross-domain community spanning technology, production and policy expertise. This workshop is designed for anyone pioneering new ways to bring together diverse technologies; it provides visibility to like-minded people in Europe while focusing on how to drive advances in composite technologies.

The Interim Communities Exchange acts as a consolidation point for the community between the yearly physical workshops, FORECAST and STEADINESS, which take place at the HiPEAC conference. These workshops have resulted in white papers (see the 2026 edition on Zenodo) bringing together the expertise of the community.

A diverse range of topics will be covered in this edition of the workshop, including:

  • digital sovereignty as an engineering problem for cloud and edge servers
  • open automotive collaboration frameworks
  • software-defined vehicles
  • testing and monitoring embodied artificial intelligence (AI) in the physical world
  • software engineering for trustworthy industrial automation
  • generative AI and formal modelling
  • refactoring and repair for industrial block-based models
  • toolchains for creating embedded AI systems
  • fault tolerance for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
