HiPEAC will reinforce Europe’s computing ecosystem across the IoT, edge, cloud and HPC continuum through clear objectives and practical actions.
Objectives are: 1) produce and disseminate an annually updated community vision that translates technical, business and societal trends into research and policy priorities; 2) align agendas across European partnerships by running a Partnership Forum with joint undertakings, industry associations and alliances; 3) accelerate innovation by encouraging technology transfer and technopreneurship; 4) grow the European skills pipeline through training, Job mobility and recruitment; 5) provide professional communication and dissemination that turns expert insights into accessible messages for different target groups.
Actions are: a yearly HiPEAC conference and a yearly ACACES summer school; a Talent Hub that runs year round; a jobs portal for increased job mobility; and an actively managed set of communication and dissemination channels. The project will reduce ecosystem fragmentation through roadmap alignment and strengthen the European computing ecosystem through networking. Expected results include a joint vision on the future of computing, stronger academia-industry collaboration, faster transfer of research to market, and a larger, better trained workforce attracted to European job opportunities.
Expected impacts on the longer term are: less silos in the computing ecosystem, more science and technology clusters to support technopreneurs, a more dynamic job market, and increased sovereignty by more designed-in-Europe technologies. The consortium builds on a mature community with 2,600 computing experts, successful project execution, and an open, transparent and inclusive view on the future of computing in Europe.
