Postdoc in software systems integration, modeling, and simulation for sustainable datacenter fleets — AEGIS at DTU

DTU is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher in software systems integration, modeling, and simulation for sustainable datacenter fleets. The position is part of AEGIS — Adaptive Grid-Interactive Edge Datacenter Fleets — a European research and training network with 15 PhD projects across 10 academic and industrial partners.

Edge datacenters are small computing sites located close to the people and devices they serve. AEGIS develops methods that let these sites adjust their electricity use to grid conditions and renewable energy availability while meeting computing service requirements.

The postdoc will build the shared software interfaces, co-simulation framework, and benchmarks that connect the PhD projects. Co-simulation lets models developed by different partners run together to study the behavior of a complete system. The work includes joint experiments and publications with the network’s researchers. We are looking for someone who enjoys collaboration and building software that other researchers can use. Project coordination and administration account for 25% of the appointment.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in computer science or a related field and have strong software engineering skills. Relevant experience includes distributed systems, cloud or edge computing, simulation, digital twins, and performance or energy modeling. Experience with FMI/Modelica or energy-system modeling is a plus.

The position is full-time for three years in the Embedded Systems Engineering section at DTU Compute, Denmark. The expected start is January 1, 2027, or by agreement. Salary follows the applicable Danish collective agreement and DTU salary structure.

Apply by November 30, 2026, at 23:59 Danish time through the official DTU advertisement: https://efzu.fa.em2.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/CX_2001/job/7991/

The advertisement lists the required documents, including a cover letter, CV, diplomas, publications, research statement, writing sample, and code sample or repository link.

AEGIS is also recruiting across its network of 15 PhD projects. Current vacancies, host-specific deadlines, and application instructions for the PhD positions are available at: https://aegis-dn.eu/positions/

Contact: Prof. Paul Pop, [email protected].

AEGIS is funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks program, grant agreement No. 101311399.
