Dr. Carlo Cavazzoni graduated in Physics at the University of Modena in 1994 and got a PhD in computational condensed matter physics at the International School for Advanced Studies (ISAS-SISSA) of Trieste in 1998. From 1999 and 2020 staff member of the CinecaHPC Department. Presently head of computational R&D and director of HPC Lab in Leonardo. He collaborates with different user communities to enable applications on massively parallel systems and innovative architecture solutions. He is responsible for the parallel design of QUANTUM ESPRESSO suite of codes. He is author and coauthor of several papers published in prestigious international reviews including Science, Physical Review Letters, Nature Materials, and many others.
