Dr. Andrea Reale is a member of the High Performance Systems team in IBM Research, Ireland. His professional interests center around large scale, parallel and distributed data processing systems. His research activities focus on novel software stacks for data-intensive workloads that include specialized accelerators, ad-hoc operating system/kernel enhancements, and distributed middleware running on both bare-metal or virtual infrastructures. Dr. Reale holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (Distributed Systems) from the University of Bologna. He received cum-laude M.Sc. and B.Sc. diplomas in Computer Engineering from the same University in 2010 and 2008, respectively.
