The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Vienna is announcing the position of a Visiting Professor of Scientific Computing (full-time position under private law limited for one year). The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Vienna is announcing the position of a Visiting Professor of Scientific Computing (full-time position under private law limited for one year). The University of Vienna intends to increase the number of women on its faculty, particularly in high-level positions, and therefore specifically invites applications by women. The Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Vienna identifies the goals of Scientific Computing to develop and apply new technologies to computer based simulation and optimization of complex workflows, which can be found in nature, science, and technical or industrial processes. This visiting professorship will represent specific research activities linked to the core research area of the Faculty “Software and Computing Technologies in Computational Science?. Hereby it will cover the two fields „Soft- and Middleware“ and „Algorithms“, which is specifically algorithm and software support for processor- and data-intensive applications. Successful candidates will have the following qualifications: - PhD and post-doctoral experience at a university or other research institution.
