2 Postdoc and 1 PhD position: Scalable Low-Power Embedded Platforms

Location:
Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical
Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science, Computer Engineering section

Context:
The CE lab of the faculty of EEMCS of Delft University of Technology
participates in the SCALOPES (Scalable Low-Power Embedded Platforms).
The project focus is on cross-domain technology and tool developments
for low-power multi-core architectures. In this project the CE lab in
collaboration with NXP, STMicroelectronics, and other partners will
develop hardware components and embedded software, and
software tools to minimize energy consumption, while reconciling
composability, predictability and dependability aspects. These hardware
and software components either observe the application or are steered by
the application through a high-level API. An additional goal is to
develop resource management policies that are aware of energy,
performance, and quality operating points of the infrastructure as well
as applications. Among the targeted applications are mobile terminals,
surveillance and video systems.

The CE lab has vacancies on SCALOPES for:
- 2 postdocs (for two years each)
- 1 PhD student (for four years)
Start date: immediate.

Skills and profile:
For the postdoc positions a PhD in computer science, computer 
engineering, or electrical engineering.
For the PhD position an MSc in computer science, computer engineering, 
or electrical engineering.
Required experience: low power and/or multi-processor architectures
Appreciated experience: performance modeling / real-time systems,
embedded software, good algorithmic knowledge.
