Hi all,
one of the hipeac2 task forces is related to reliability. reliability
issues are orthogonal to probably all of the hipeac2 research clusters and
one of the central objectives of this task force is to promote
reliability research and awareness.
Marc Duranton is leading this task force and after an email exchange
he asked me to query for interest to participate in a meeting with
the following draft agenda below (please feel free to send me
suggestions). we have reserved tentatively a spot in the second day
of the cluster meetings. if you are interested to attend such a meeting please register
at http://www.hipeac.net/computer_system_wk_barcelona_registration.
1. a short overview of the area and key upcoming challenges,
2. the goals of the task force and vision of how the task force can be
useful/benefit to/from the various clusters. concrete instruments to
promote the goals within hipeac. will be nice to have some industrial
input on this as well as how the clusters view the
task force helping them realize their goals.
3. discussion and input of participants
4. short presentation by participants of research activity in the area
if i recall correct 47 people were concerned with reliability issues - i
think Per collected some stats and this number showed up in one of his
slides.
looking forward to your input and thanks for your time,
yanos
