         The 22nd International Conference on Supercomputing (ICS'08) 
                 Island of Kos, Greece. June 7-8, 2008

              WORKSHOPS Call for Papers and TUTORIALS program

ICS'08 will host the following two WORKSHOPS, both of them on June 7th:

1. International Workshop on Scalable Tools for High-End Computing
------------------------------------------------------------------
   Organizers: Michael Gerndt (TU München), Jesus Labarta (Barcelona 
   Supercomputing Center) and Barton Miller (University of Wisconsin-Madison)

   Important dates: Paper submission deadline (March 31, 2008), author 
   notification (April 15, 2008), final version for workshop proceedings 
   (April 31, 2008)

   Authors will be invited to submit extended versions after the workshop 
   for inclusion in the Special Issue of Concurrency&Computation: Practice 
   and Experience on Scalable Tools for High-End Computing.

2. International Workshop on Super Visualization
------------------------------------------------
   Organizer: Kazuki Joe (Nara Women's University)

   Important dates: abstract submission deadline (March 31, 2008), author 
   notification (April 10, 2008), paper submission deadline (May 7. 2008), 
   author notification (May 21. 2008), final version for CD proceedings
   (May 28, 2008)

   Post-workshop proceedings will be published by ACM or Springer LNCS. A 
   small number of authors will be invited to submit an extended version of 
   their papers to a special issue of Scientific Programming (IOS Press).

The ICS'08 program will include on June 8th the following three TUTORIALS:

1. Parallel Performance Evaluation Tools for HPC Systems (full day)
   Presenters: Allen D. Malony (University of Oregon), Rick Kufrin 
   (NCSA, UIUC), Karl Fuerlinger (University of Tennessee, Knoxville), 
   Andreas Knuepfer, Holger Brunst and Felix Wolf (TU-Dresden)

2. Programming emerging architectures: GPUs and multicores (full day)
   Presenters: Rosa M. Badia (BSC-UPC, Spain) and Manuel Ujaldon (U. of 
   Malaga, Spain)

3. An Advanced Introduction to OpenMP 3.0 (full day)
   Presenters: Tim Mattson (Intel), Larry Meadows (Intel) and Federico 
   Massaioli (CASPUR, Italy)
