We are announcing the following positions, all related to parallel and
embedded computing. You are welcome to contact me for further information!
Best Regards,
--Bertil Svensson, Director of CERES, Halmstad University, Sweden
bertil.svensson at hh.se

*
The School of Information Systems, Computer and Electrical Engineering
at Halmstad University, Sweden*,
invites applications for three research and teaching positions:
*- Associate Professor in Computer Engineering (ref. IDE 10/08)
- Postdoctoral Researcher in Parallel Computation Models and
Architectures (ref. IDE 8/08)
- Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Science (ref. IDE 9/08)*

The positions are connected to the long-term research programme CERES
(Centre for Research on Embedded Systems) in cooperation with industry
and with support from The Knowledge Foundation. The focus of the
research is on Cooperating Embedded Systems, in particular on the
opportunities offered by intelligent and massive cooperation between and
within embedded systems. For the benefit of industry, the research aims
at exploiting the opportunities for cooperation that new, enabling
technologies provide. Read more about CERES at www.hh.se/ceres (click
then on "This page in English" for English version)

**Associate Professor in Computer Engineering **(ref. IDE 10/08)**
    **

*/This is a permanent faculty position with a preferred specialization
in //Computer Architecture and Digital Systems Design/*

Within the field, areas relevant to cooperating embedded systems are of
particular interest. These include novel parallel architectures,
reconfigurable architectures, systems on a chip, energy-efficient
systems, and hardware-software co-design.

Candidates must have a proven record of excellence in research funding,
publications, teaching, and professional service, as well as
demonstrated ability for developing and leading collaborative research
projects. Successful candidates are expected to develop a high-quality
funded research program together with colleagues and must be committed
to excellence in teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

*Researcher (Postdoc) in Parallel Computation Models and
    Architectures *(ref. IDE 8/08)

**/This is a researcher position for one year starting preferably from
October 1, 2008./**

The successful candidate will work in close cooperation with PhD
students and senior researchers in projects dealing with applications of
parallel architectures and programming tool in areas of high-performance
embedded signal processing or energy-efficient adaptive processing in
networked systems. The candidate will be expected to follow CERES
publication strategy targeting high-rated journals and conferences. / /

Areas of interest include: parallel programming models and tools;
compilation techniques; reconfigurable computing; parallel processor
arrays; parallel algorithms; and fault-tolerant (nano-) architectures.

*Researcher (Postdoc) in Computer Science *(ref. IDE 9/08)

*/This is a researcher position for one year starting preferably from
October 1, 2008./*

The successful candidate will work in close cooperation with PhD
students and senior researchers in projects dealing with techniques for
and applications of cooperating embedded systems. The projects deal
with, e.g., applications of sensor networks to vehicle-infrastructure
cooperation as well as health- and elderly care; language based tools
for the implementation of protocol stacks; and real-time data
communication protocols. The candidate will be expected to follow CERES
publication strategy targeting high-rated journals and conferences. / /

Areas of interest include programming of cooperating embedded systems,
design and implementation of real-time operating systems, system
software for distributed real-time systems, and design and
implementation of language based tools applicable to cooperating
embedded systems.

*More information*, including contact persons and guidelines about how
to apply, can be found at:
