STMicroelectronics develop optimized solutions for embedding complete web browsing engines including both
Javascript virtual machine technologies and Adobe Flash(R) execution environment for valuable user experience on
TV and Set-Top-Box consumer products.

The Compilation Expertise Center at STMicroelectronics, located in Grenoble, in the french Alps, is aiming at improving
the existing ActionScript and JavaScript virtual machines to include new technologies developed with academic partners
in the field of Just-In-Time (JIT) code optimization and Trace Compilation.

Fields of research are dynamic compilation, split compilation, code specialization and speculation, binary translation and
fast interpreters.

The development will contribute to the ST40/SH4 and ARM Cortex A9 based STMicroelectronics SoCs, to the Adobe Flash(R) Player
products as well as open source projects such as Webkit, Tamarin and Firefox.

STMicroelectronics Compiler Expertise Center is in charge of compilation tools used to develop embedded applications on
STMicroelectronics and ST-Ericsson SoCs used in mobile and consumer markets. The group applies compiler development under
advanced software engineering (automated continuous integration processes) and agile project methodology (Scrum).
