Description of the job
For Innovation Works in Munich within the department CTO IW SI - Sensors, Electronics & Syst. Integration we are looking for a
PhD on Safety-Critical High-Performance Processing (m/f).

Tasks
Your responsibilities will include:
- Development of approaches to use multi-core and system-on-chip approaches in aerospace and space environments
o Development of process and process use aspects
o Approaches will be based on a combination of experimental, theoretical, and simulation.
- Perform independent research in computing at PhD level
- Work and collaborate with international partners in joint research projects
- Representation of project work and management

Skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- Excellent knowledge in embedded high-performance processing (multi-core computing)
o Time- and space partitioning, virtualization, hypervisor concepts, etc.
o Parallel system design aspects
o System-on-chip aspects of computing
- Excellent knowledge in embedded operating systems (like Linux)
- Interest in dependable systems
o Interest in embedded and safety-critical system design issues
o knowledge in safety-related standards like ARP 4754, ARP 4761, DO-297, DO-178b/c, DO-254, IEC61508,
ARINC-653, ISO26262, etc. advantageous
- Good programming skills (high-level languages like C)
- Self-initiative, willingness to learn, high degree of independent research and development
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- English: Advanced
- German: Good
