Description

ARM has created a highly integrated SoC demonstrator targeted at high performance portable computing applications such as high-end smartphones, SmartBooks and Laptops. The SoC includes a multi-core Cortex A-class processing subsystem, a HD media processing subsystem including video processing and graphics processing, a HD display controller, a high throughput multi-channel memory system and other high performance IO interfaces. This SoC is implemented almost entirely in synthesizable verilog which can be used in HDL simulation and on simulation acceleration platforms. The internship aims to:-

- Conduct system performance evaluation experiments using the
SoC RTL running micro-benchmark stimulus
- Extract and analyze traffic flows, access patterns and
dependencies across the on-chip interconnect,
memory system and IO system

Requirements

- Research interest in DRAM memory systems and (preferably AMBA)
interconnect
- Good understanding of embedded processors and peripherals
- RTL design, testbenches, simulation and simulation acceleration
experience
- Experience with compilers, assembler and SW build management
- Programming languages: Verilog, Perl, TCL, C & ARM assembly
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data mining etc
