Info about the location

First of all:
  • the currency: Polish zlotys [PLN], with an effective exchange rate of approximately 4 PLN for 1 EUR if you change euro notes.
  • the time zone: Central European (Paris/Berlin/Amsterdam/Brussels), switching to winter time in the night from Sat 25 to Sun 26 October, thus right before the workshop.

Travel in/around the city

There are several ways to reach Sofitel from the airport (located in the Western part of the city, approx. 12km from the hotel):
  • taxi: approximately 40 PLN
  • public transportation: bus line 406 to one-before-last stop "Renoma" (travel time approx 22 min, departures every 30 minutes from 5:19 until 22:59, fare 2.80 PLN). From there three options:
    • 7-8 mins walk down Świdnicka street (if the weather is OK)
    • tramway lines 6 or 7 to "Oławska" stop (fare 2.40 PLN)
    • tramway lines 14 or 20 to "Rynek" stop (fare 2.40 PLN)
From Wrocław's Central train station (Wrocław Główny):
  • from the main entrance side: bus line 122 to "Świdnicka" stop (fare 2.40 PLN)
  • from the rear side of the station: tramway line 22 (fare 2.40 PLN) or fast bus line "K" (fare 2.80 PLN) to "Rynek" stop.
It is also possible to get a day travel ticket (all busses and trams) for 10.00 PLN

we do not recommend hotel Duel because it is too noisy: tramway and cars noise all the night. You could not sleep :)
