Motivation

The following application is also supported by Erven Rohou and was once supported (HiPEAC1) by Marco Cornero.

Dear Albert,
I would like to apply, jointly with G. Agosta, for admission to the Compilation Research Clusters of the HiPEAC network.
I lead the Formal Language and Compiler Group of Politecnico di Milano - Dipartimento Elettronica e Informazione (DEI).
Currently the group includes, in addition to us, four PhD students and enlists the part-time collaboration of other professors and researchers of DEI.
The main research topics relevant to compilation are:
dynamic compilation, parallel programming languages and mapping to parallel machines, program analysis and transformation for optimization and parallelization, program transformation to counteract voltage anomalies.
The research activities of this group are better described at http://compilergroup.elet.polimi.it/
The major free software product of our group is the ILDJIT
http://ildjit.sourceforge.net/
compilation chain for dot.Net. This is a virtual machine supporting both C and C#, with optimized performances on multi-core machines.
I am also including a link to the CV of Giovanni Agosta,

and of myself

Let me also mention my recent textbook Formal Languages and Compilation published by Springer

I hope we can be admitted and thus contribute to the HiPEAC network. Thanks for your effort.
Yours
Stefano Crespi Reghizzi
and
Giovanni Agosta
