Motivation

Dr. Ozturk has been on the faculty at Bilkent since 2008 where he currently is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering. His research interests are in the areas of on-chip multiprocessing, computer architecture, power-aware architectures, and compiler optimizations. Prior to joining Bilkent in Spring 2008, he worked as a software optimization engineer in Cellular and Handheld Group at Intel (Marvell) almost 2 years. At Intel, he optimized the 3rd party software such as Real Player on Intel XScale architecture using Intel WMMX instruction sets. Dr. Ozturk received his Ph.D. degree in computer science and engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, the M.S. degree in computer engineering from University Of Florida, and received the B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from Bogazici University, Turkey. He is currently serving as an editor and a reviewer on leading IEEE, ACM, and other journals.

I (Albert Cohen) recommend Ozcan's application as a full member. He is still a junior Assistant Prof, but with a long PhD thesis in a top place and group, and Industrial experience. He also has ample publication record and academic relations.
