Description

Future generations of deeply embedded processors will present a very different set of architectural requirement than application processors. This work involves identifying architectural and microarchitectural features that could help meet the requirements of future deeply embedded processors and then modeling and evaluating those features. Some examples of areas that could be explored are multi-processor microcontrollers, precision timed architectures and enhanced use of in-package memories.

The ideal candidate would have a good background in CPU architecture and microarchitecture, experience of modeling and benchmarking CPUs in C or Verilog and experience of programming and interfacing Microcontrollers.
