Topic: The aim of this join STMicroelectronics/NXP Semiconductors internship is to implement a split compilation chain with ECMA-335 Common Language Infrastructure (CLI) binary as intermediate format for VLIW architectures like the STM’s ST200 and NXP’s TriMedia. This chain already exist for RISC processors, but it should be extended to support the specific features of VLIW with SIMD extensions, and find how the CLI code could be extended to support those features.
Skills required: Knowledge in compiler, C language.
Skills appreciated: GCC backend and code generation, CLI.
