Asymmetric Multiprocessor Programming/Toolchain

Location

Cambridge, UK

Timing

Description

Asymmetric parallelism is particularly attractive because it allows the use of custom processing elements optimized to execute a limited range of tasks using much less power than a general purpose processor can achieve. ARM is developing an architecture and toolchain to support asymmetric multiprocessing.

The purpose of this internship is to test the programming model by writing example applications, to improve the compiler and to develop debugging tools.

Requirements:

- Ph.D student with architectures and software tools knowledge
