HiPEAC 2008 Workshops and Tutorial will be held at Scandic Opalen Hotel.

Accommodation
Rooms have been reserved at Scandic Opalen Hotel, and City Hotel, Göteborg. Please find information about the hotels and also student's accommodation at HiPEAC 2008 homepage, under the link Hotel Information.
Climate and Dress
There is an important weather divergence between northern and
southern part of Sweden. In southern part of Sweden, temperatures in
January are in the range of -5 to +5 degrees Celcius
(i.e. approximately 23 to 39 degrees Fahrenheit).
Göteborg has a
maritime climate, which means that there won't be much snow. A woolen
jacket or a raincoat together with a woolen sweater is
recommended.
Dress will be informal throughout the workshop and conference.
Currency & Credit cards
The currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona, SEK. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops.

1 EUR = 9.30 SEK
1 USD = 6.60 SEK
Voltage
Electricity in Sweden is 230 volt - European standard (two round pins).

Accompanying person
The Welcome Reception is free of charge for accompanying persons. Please indicate your participation on the registration form for planning purposes. Tickets for the banquet dinner can be booked on the registration form at a price of EUR 75. On-site availability is not guaranteed.

Additional Proceedings
Additional proceedings will be sold on-site at the price of EUR 60, availability not guaranteed.
Payment
Payment is required before Jan 14. If we have not received your payment by this date, your registration will be cancelled.
Cancellation
All cancellations must be made in writing with a signature, and postmarked no later than December 17, 2007. Please send the letter to Chalmers Univ. of Technology, Attn: Ewa Waingelin, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, SE-412 96 Goteborg, Sweden. The total amount will be refunded, less a cancellation fee of EUR 100. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after December 17, 2007. Telephone cancellations cannot be accepted.
Change of name
If you are unable to attend, your registration can be transferred to a colleague within your own organization. An administration fee of EUR 50 will then be charged. Please inform the conference secretariat by e-mail, hipeac2008@hipeac.net.
Students
Participants applying for student fees will be asked to show a proof of their student status (the university identity card) on site.
Confirmation
A confirmation of the registration will be received automatically by e-mail when you have completed the HiPEAC 2008 registration form. Registration for events, which are included in the registration fee, must also be marked on the form, in order to obtain a ticket.
Receipt
A receipt of your registration fee, together with a proof of attendance, will be included in the conference folder.
Insurance
You are requested to arrange your own health and travel insurance. The conference organization accepts no liability for injuries/losses of whatever nature incurred by participants and/or accompanying persons, nor loss of, or damage to, their luggage and/or personal belongings.
Practical information
Language
The official language of HiPEAC 2008 is English. Simultaneous interpretation is not available.
Passport and visa
Sweden is a member of the Schengen Agreement. To find out if you need a visa for entry to Sweden, visit the Swedish Migration Board or contact the Swedish Embassy or a Swedish Consulate in your country. If you need an invitation letter for visa purposes, please send a request by email to hipeac2008@hipeac.net.
Badges
Each participant will receive a name badge upon registration. For security reasons all participants are requested to wear their badges during all the activities and social events during the conference.
Meals
Coffee and lunches are included in the registration fee during the conference days. Coffee is included during the workshops and tutorial day.
Special Diets
We can accommodate most dietary requirements if these are indicated to us upon booking.

Special needs
The Chalmers Conference Center, the Scandic Opalen Hotel, the City Hall and Universeum Science Centre all welcome disabled delegates. The buildings have wheelchair access.

Conference Secretariat
The Conference Secretariat desk will be located at Scandic Opalen Hotel during the workshop and tutorial day and at Chalmers Conference Center during the conference days. Conference documents, tickets and other material will be issued to the delegates upon presentation of the registration confirmation papers.

Tipping
Service charges are always included and extra gratuities are not necessary unless you will show your appreciation for a good meal or special service.
