multicore processors and hybrid systems with accelerators) have made it very
challenging for programmers to reach the performance potential of current

8th International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Computing

Start: 30/06/2009 - 00:00

End: 04/07/2009 - 23:59

ISPDC 2009

http://www.ispdc.org

Submission Deadline: January 16, 2009

The increasing computational requirements of many applications require the development of new algorithms and architectures for parallel and distributed computing. The ISPDC serves as a forum for engineers and researchers to present and discuss new ideas and system technology, with an interactive and friendly, but strongly professional atmosphere.

This is the 8th ISPDC. Previous symposiums were held at

2008: Krakow, Poland
2007: Hagenberg, Austria

The "HiPEAC Summer School" is a one week summer school for computer architects and compiler builders working in the field of high performance computer architecture and compilation for embedded systems. The school aims at the dissemination of advanced scientific knowledge and the promotion of international contacts among scientists from academia and industry.

A distinguishing feature of this Summer School is its broad scope ranging from low level technological issues to advanced compilation techniques. In the design of modern computer systems one has to be knowledgeable about architecture as well as about the quality of the code, and how to improve it. This summer school offers the ideal mix of the two worlds – both at the entry level and at the most advanced level

2009 SYMPOSIUM ON APPLICATION ACCELERATORS IN HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING (SAAHPC 2009)

Start: 27/07/2009 - 00:00

End: 31/07/2009 - 23:59

What do GPUs, FPGAs, vector processors and other special-purpose chips have in common? They are advanced processor architectures that the scientific computing community is attempting to use for accelerating computationally demanding applications. While high-performance computing systems that use dedicated application accelerators are still rare, they will be the norm rather than the exception in the near future.
