Program

The summer school starts on Sunday evening July 24, 2005 with an opening ceremony. Per day there are 4 course slots and an evening activity. The school runs for 5 days and all participants are expected to arrive on Sunday afternoon and to leave on Saturday morning.

Monday evening: invited talk "Overview of the Cell Architecture"

by Jim Kahle, IBM Fellow, Chief Architect of the Cell Processor.

Tuesday evening: poster session

This poster session will provide an ideal opportunity for students to present their own work in progress and get feedback from senior researchers and fellow-students, and can be the beginning of future collaboration. All participants admitted to the summer school are entitled to bring a poster and to present it to the other participants during the poster session. A book of abstracts with a 1-4 page abstract per poster will be distributed to all summer school participants.

Wednesday afternoon: excursion

On Wednesday afternoon, a half day excursion to the splendid gardens of Villa d'Este is organized. Villa d'Este is a UNESCO World Heritage site. read more.

Thursday evening: HiPEAC presentation

by Mateo Valero and Olivier Temam followed by a message by Merce Griera-I-Fisa, project officer for the HiPEAC network.

Friday evening: farewell dinner

There might be a special surprise.
